Sarah Huang, an 8th grader new to the BAY this year, made front page news in the Lyme Times for her winning poster. Her art teacher at Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School, Thelma Halloran, encourages her students to compete in this contest, sponsored by the Lion’s Club every year, to use their art skills to promote peace in the world. You can see the article and Sarah’s beautiful poster on the Lyme Times website:
Recently, BAY students have been learning about the importance of arts advocacy. Thank you to art teacher Ms. Halloran as well as the Day staff member Kimberly Drelich and photographer Tim Cook for promoting the importance of art education for young people.
