History
The BAY opened in 2003 with the mission to provide quality art education to emerging artists in southeastern Connecticut. The BAY is a private art studio providing weekly art lessons to elementary, middle school, high school, and home school students. BAY art classes include instruction in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpting. Classes at the BAY are long (1 ½ to 2 hours), with small class sizes, which foster time for discussions about art history, aesthetics, and art criticism in addition to studio work.

HISTORY OF BAY: The BAY programs were an outgrowth of Sophia's Rhode Island School of Design experience and personal education philosophy. The skills & satisfaction achieved through sequential, hands-on art education will never lose their appeal & their importance are becoming more relevant in an increasingly technological & virtual world. Dedicated to helping young people develop lifelong skills in the process of "art making" & future opportunities in the field of art.
